Crista has an MA degree in Clinician Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Crista is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia, license #0701013176, which renews on 06/30 every year. Crista is a wife, a mother, and a former Accountant and Realtor. Her passion is working with children and adolescents as well as couples and individuals.

Crista specializes in ages 18 to 35 and is familiar and open to the unique challenges and high anxiety this life phase can bring. From major life transitions including starting college or new careers, to new relationships and marriages, Crista has the experience to be present with you and teach you techniques you will use throughout your life. Crista does premarital counseling using the Prepare and Enrich Curriculum often required by local churches.

This young adult phase of life can also be filled with the confusion and consequences of addictions – video games to substance abuse or alcohol dependence and beyond. Crista has extended training in helping to identify and navigate what addiction and recovery might look like, in a safe and accepting atmosphere.

Crista is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidenced-based treatment designed to help clients process and resolve trauma. Crista also uses proven techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, as well as strength-based interventions, Crista is able to help you address the common issues of this developmental stage of life as well as many of the unique issues that can be present. Progress is her goal while always observing her clients valued time and money.

Crista offers therapeutic serviced at a rate of $225 for the initial evaluation and $175 for each additional session. Although guaranteed payment from insurance is not possible, Crista accepts most Viriginia Anthem BCBS and Carefirst DC Capital region plans including FEPBlue and out of state BCBS. Should you desire out of network reimbursement, Crista will provide you a statement to submit to your insurance company.
