Lauren A. Colletti
Intern in Counseling
Lauren is an Intern in Counseling and a Master’s student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marymount University. She works under the supervision of Marianne G. Shirilla, MAMFC, LMFT, LPC-S, and Debra L. Rezendes, PhD, LMFT, as part of her training.
Lauren enjoys working with a diverse range of clients, including adolescents, college students, adults, and couples. She offers personalized support for issues such as stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, and perfectionism. As clients navigate significant life transitions—whether starting college, changing careers, managing health issues, or coping with the loss of a loved one—Lauren is dedicated to guiding them through these changes with kindness and empathy. Her support also extends to helping individuals enhance their self-esteem and improve their relationship dynamics, including conflict resolution and communication skills. For neurodivergent clients, she helps them embrace all parts of themselves and provides neurodiversity-affirming, personalized strategies to manage the challenges of navigating a neurotypical world and reduce physical, emotional, and social burnout.
Lauren believes therapy should be a compassionate and welcoming space where people can explore their experiences, identities, and values without judgment. She is passionate about helping clients recognize their strengths and resilience and believes that empathetic support is crucial for overcoming challenges and achieving personal growth.
Lauren’s interest in counseling was sparked by her own transformative experiences in therapy, which deepened her understanding of the therapeutic process and her commitment to supporting others through their journeys of change and growth. Her previous work with international students and immigrants has broadened her perspective, enhancing her ability to support people through cultural adaptation and major life changes. This background has given her a strong appreciation for cultural sensitivity and a dedication to creating an inclusive and respectful environment.
Lauren values authenticity and strives to create a safe space where clients can explore their true selves and engage openly. She recognizes the profound privilege of her work and deeply values the trust clients place in sharing their personal stories. She is committed to honoring this trust with compassionate and thoughtful support throughout their journey.
