Licensed Resident in Counseling

Lynda believes that everyone can benefit from counseling, regardless of your age, gender, culture, ethnicity, or religious affiliation. Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by the current challenges of life or weighed down by events of the past. Whatever your circumstances may be, she is committed to helping you sort through all the chaos, confusion, and hurt to get to the root of these issues. As a therapist, Lynda seeks to provide you a space that is warm, safe, accepting, respectful, and non-judgmental for you to heal and flourish. Her sincere desire is to help you find hope and healing so that you can thrive in life.

Lynda understands that every person is unique and multidimensional, so she takes a holistic, integrative, and trauma-informed approach to tailor therapy to the needs of each client. In this collaborative therapeutic environment, she uses various evidence-based techniques drawn from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), multicultural counseling, attachment-based therapies, and neuroscience-informed therapies. Lynda is also certified in both Prepare-Enrich and SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts).

Having immigrated to the United States from Taiwan as a child, Lynda is fluent in English but also speaks Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese at a conversational level. As a bi-cultural individual, she is empathetic to the challenges of being a minority in addition to the challenges that may arise in the various life roles of a person. Lynda has a passion in working with couples and adults (young and not so young) through various issues including anxiety, depression, life transitions, spiritual issues, multicultural issues, family of origin issues, and relational trauma.

Lynda has an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She is a Licensed Resident in Counseling in the Commonwealth of Virginia, license #0704015973, which renews on 06/30 every year. She is actively pursuing Licensure as Professional Counselor (LPC), and is currently working under the supervision of Marianne G. Shirilla, MAMFC, LMFT, LPC-S.

Finding the right therapist can feel daunting, so Lynda offers a free 20-minute initial phone consultation. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact Lynda or call 703.662.1288. You may also review her profile on psychologytoday.com.
