Megan S. Mekhail, MA Telehealth In Person
Licensed Resident in Counseling
Megan has an M.A. in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. She is a Licensed Resident in Counseling, License # 0704017340 which renews on the 09/30 of every year. Her goal is to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She works under the supervision of Rebekah Hsiesh, MA, LPC-S.
Megan is a Resident in Counseling who works with teens (15+), adults, and couples. She helps people navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, and spiritual concerns. Her goal is to offer a space where clients feel safe, understood, and free to talk openly without fear of judgment.
Megan takes a person-centered, thoughtful approach to therapy and tailors treatment to each client’s unique needs. She integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness techniques, and she is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Megan is also trained in Prepare and Enrich for premarital counseling and enjoys supporting couples as they build a strong foundation for marriage. Her style is warm, respectful, and engaged—she works collaboratively with clients to understand the root of their struggles and explore what healing and growth might look like for them.
With teens, Megan brings a relaxed, creative energy—often incorporating art, games, or sports to make therapy more engaging and accessible. She also includes family members in the process when it supports better communication and connection.
Megan has lived and worked overseas and values the diverse experiences her clients bring with them. She works with people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures and strives to create an inclusive, affirming space for everyone. If requested, she can also integrate Christian counseling approaches into her work.
Megan offers therapeutic services in person and through telehealth, at a rate of $170 per 55-60 minute session. Although guaranteed payment from insurance is not possible, Megan accepts BCBS, Anthem BCBS, CareFirst, Federal BCBS, and out-of-state BCBS. All in-network insurance is billed through her supervisor. Should you desire out-of network reimbursement, she will provide you with a statement to submit to your insurance company.
