Intern in Counseling

Meredith is an Intern in Counseling pursuing licensure as a Professional Counselor in Virginia. She is an M.S. student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University and works under the supervision of Daniel Pyon, LPC (license #0701015623).

Meredith believes peace, acceptance, and strength are possible for everyone. She strives to create a safe, welcoming space where clients of all backgrounds feel respected and supported. With kindness, honesty, and practical tools, she helps clients feel understood and make meaningful change. She believes therapy works best when built on trust.

Meredith grew up in different parts of the country, which shaped her understanding of diverse people and experiences. She takes time to learn each client’s story toand builds a plan aligned with their needs, strengths, and goals.

Much of Meredith’s life has focused on helping others. She has supported first-generation college students, English language learners, and people who think and learn in different ways. These experiences deepened her respect for clients’ resilience and her passion for helping them clarify values, build on strengths, and plan for the future—including career goals.

Before counseling, Meredith  earned a degree in Civil & Infrastructure Engineering from George Mason University and spent over ten years in federal leadership and problem-solving roles with the U.S. Army and Navy. She understands the demands of military life, government work, and public service, and enjoys supporting these communities and their families.

Meredith works with teens, adults (including college students), and older adults. She focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship and implementing practical, evidence-based strategies to build trust and hope. She supports clients navigating life transitions, identity exploration, relationship concerns, anxiety/depression, career and job stress, and emotional distress.
