Fela believes therapy is a collaborative and compassionate journey where every client’s story matters. Her goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and empowered to explore their challenges, discover their strengths, and create meaningful change.
She is passionate about supporting young adults, adults, and couples in their pursuit of clarity, emotional well-being, and personal growth. Fela’s counseling approach is integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness-based practices, and relational and attachment-informed techniques to meet each client’s unique needs. For couples, she incorporates Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method to rebuild trust, enhance emotional connection, and strengthen communication.
Fela specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. As a multicultural, first-generation African American woman, she is especially committed to providing culturally responsive care that supports clients from diverse backgrounds. She strives to create an inclusive and respectful therapeutic environment that honors each client’s cultural identity and lived experience, helping them navigate life’s complexities with empathy and respect.
Fela holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Townsend Institute for Leadership and Counseling at Concordia University Irvine. She is currently working under the supervision of Marianne G. Shirilla, MAMFC, LPC-S, LMFT, and Dr. Debra L. Rezendes, PhD, LMFT.

Fela offers therapy at a self-pay rate of $185 for an intial 60 minute session, and $170 per subsequent 55-60 minute session. She accepts Aetna as well as most Virginia Anthem BCBS and CareFirst DC Capital Region plans, including FEPBlue and out-of-state BCBS. In-network insurance is billed through her supervisor. For out-of-network reimbursement, she can provide a superbill upon request.
She offers both telehealth and in-person sessions and is currently accepting new clients.
