Make sure your schedule matches with your therapist’s schedule for consistent appointments.

Assess Your Comfort Level

Pay close attention to how you feel during the consultation. Do you feel heard and understood? Do you feel comfortable? Did you feel hopeful after talking with the therapist?

Trust Your Gut

Evaluate the Fit

You will likely know after 3-4 sessions if the therapist is a good fit. Have you begun to trust your therapist? Do they understand you? Can you be vulnerable with your WHOLE story not just part of it?

Don’t Be Afraid to Change Therapists 

We want you to heal deeply and fully. That means finding the right fit. It is OK to change your therapist. Talk to your current therapist who can give you a recommendation for another therapist.
